Once again after sampling one too many cupcakes, Montyslist has awarded Cupcake MOJO in Weymouth as the best cupcake on the South Shore.

The selections are endless. The moistness of the cupcake just melts in your mouth.

I think my favorite part is the energy and the smiles you get every time you walk in the door. It is just a awesome place to browse and talk to the owners and staff.

After that, you get to take a box of their delicious cupcakes home. I dare you to ever make it home without dipping into the box. Have them pack you a separate bag for the ride, so you won’t be discovered hitting the box early.

If you are looking for waterfront property on the south shore, you are not alone. It might be the best reason to live south of Boston.

The best properties on the south shore by town are:

1. Cohasset- hands down, the #1 place to live on the water. Discover Cohasset
2. Duxbury- great views and beaches. If you have to ask how much, you probably cannot afford it.
3. Wewymouth- Not a lot of waterfront, but this is where the bargains are.
4. Quincy- The neck, wollaston beach and Marina Bay. Same as Weymouth, but closer to Boston
5. Hingham- The water is nice, as is the harbor. The homes are beautiful, but……………
6. Marshfield- summer homes galore, stacked like firewood. Not cheap, but if you are looking for a 6 month house, this is your place.
7. Plymouth- Warren avenue is as close to Jerusalem Road as you get. The real value in Plymouth is the lakefront properties.
8. Hull- The worlds best kept secret. If it is the house and water you care about and not the image you care about, Hull is your spot. Hull is to Hyundai, as Mercedes is to Cohasset. They bnoth are a car and they both drive you some place, but it is a status and value thing.
9. Kingston- Believe it or not, they do have some waterfront.
10. Scituate-Forget the order. This is not a 10 out of 10. Scituate is awesome. great houses and great people. It helps if you are Irish. Scituate is commonly known as the Irish Riviera.

Christmas is right around the corner and that means it is time to get the family and head out for that perfect tree.

None of that Walmart plastic tree stuff. I mean the perfect fresh cut tree that when you walk in the room, the smell of the balsam just blows you away.

It seems like there is someone selling trees around every corner, and if you are like my wife, you have searched them all to find the best place with that perfect tree. So I asked Mrs Montyslist, to tell me where to get the best smelling, perfectly shaped and freshest tree.

This by far is my favorite place to get a tree on the South Shore. If you do not live close, it is worth the drive. They have the best selection of Balsams Scoth Pines and wreaths of every size.

Lamberts in Pembroke and Hingham also has live garland and live trees to choose from.

The best part though is that these trees are fresh. I swear they get a delivery everyday. The trees do not drop their needles on the way to the car.

No need to drag your tree to the car, as they’re patient ( you have to shake a lot of trees to please mrs montyslist), really nice and take the time to explain the trees diffenences to you, then carefully wrap each one, then bring the tree to your car and tie it down, so that you dont have to worry about losing it as you turn a corner.

Lamberts would get my vote as the number one place to buy your Christmas trees and decorations on the South Shore.

2.   Weight watchers Hanover, ma   This is tried and true. stick to it and it will work. I tried it, but it came back as fast as it went on. The meetings can be tough, but it works.

3. Hypnosis Center – Weymouth    Why not try it, ” you are getting sleepy, very sleepy”  ” You hate McDonald’s, You Hate McDonald’s”  When I snap my fingers, your mouth will be taped shut.    TRY IT!

What is more fun than a kid’s birthday party? Some of my best memories when I was a kid were the special parties my mom put on for me. I remember the pony ride like it was yesterday. When I got older and had kids, my best memories were getting together with my friends and having them over with their kids for my kid’s birthday.

We did the Chuckie Cheese thing, and the themed thing, and the jumpy blowup thing in the backyard, and even a nature walk.

You are always looking for something new and something unique and most of all fun and memorable. I found it and it is awesome.

I know this person, and she is awesome, terrific and perfect for your kids party. Alexis will show up in a costume of your kids choice. You can go in the other room and for the whole time she is there, your kids will smile, laugh, giggle and just have the best most memorable time of their lives.

Alexis is a classically trained singer and can probably build you a house ( at least a dog or hat )out of those long blow up balloons. I have seen it and the kids will chase her out the door begging her not to go. Your kid will have a lifetime memory for what I think is a ridiculously low-cost for the event. For the value, I can only say that Alexis must love kids, and she does.

Don’t trust your party, or more importantly your kids with anyone else.

I highly recommend Alexis and Karacters for kids.

Seems like there is a car dealer on every corner doesn’t it. We all love a new car. But to get that new car, you have to go through that dreaded process of searching and then the haggling and the inevitable wait while the smiling sales guy goes back with your offer to the manager in the back room.

They say:

” I wish I could do that, but my manager says that we would be losing money, How about this number”?

We want the car, but we hate the game.

So don’t hate the Players, Hate the Game.

We have to deal with the game, but let me cut through that part and tell you what players to deal with. When you know the right player, the game is easy.

I recently bought a Toyota and visited every Toyota dealer south of Boston.

Like I said I have been to them all. I found that Toyota of Braintree was the cleanest, the best service, they had no bullshit pricing, and they were low key about the sale. I dealt with Brian McGrath and he could not have been nicer or more honest. After having dealt with a dozen others in the week up to meeting Brian, it was a great relief, to not feel fleeced. The owner (Greg) was the first to thank me for my purchase and to tell me that they would be there when I needed anything. I was not buying an expensive car, and I was a little embarrassed by all the attention I was getting. But I think they treat everybody the same, even the tire kickers. I am tough and they won me over.

Shop the rest if you have to, but end up here.
